Artist Rocky Burkhardt has had an amazing and astonishing life filled with accomplishment, adventure and travel. He was born on June 3, 1942 to Ray and Marie Burkhardt in Dayton, KY. He graduated from Newport Catholic High School in 1960. In Cincinnati, OH, he worked in the graphic arts for Bank Litho Reproductions and Stevenson Photo Color. In 1964, He went into the military and became a special agent in Germany. He attended Officer Candidate School and graduated as a second lieutenant. He was then assigned as training officer for a basic training company in Columbus, Georgia. He was stationed in Korea as chief of Security for the Second Infantry Division, at Camp Howze, South Korea. His last assignment was at the Pentagon, as Staff Actions Control Officer for the Directorate for Civil Disturbance Planning and Operations. In 1969, after leaving the military, he copyrighted a version of the Peace Sign which was seen at Peace Rallies throughout the U.S. He was area supervisor for several Washington, D.C. think tanks. He was owner of his own newspaper and worked as sales manager of WOHN Radio, Herndon, VA. In Cincinnati, he became Chief of Security for the Netherland and Terrace Hilton Hotels respectively.

In 1975, Burkhardt, became interested in Art and began study with two excellent artists, Nathan Stargarten and Leo Murphy. In 1975, he opened his first art gallery in Cincinnati, OH. In 1976, He entered Northern Kentucky University and in 1981, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Before long, he was recognized for his outstanding creative original art ability. He became a sought after speaker and art show judge. He has been the host and producer of his own award winning TV shows. Burkhardt has maintained his art studio since 1975. He also works as a photographer, doing life and nature studies in the city and mountains.

In 1984, because of his love for nature, Burkhardt moved to the Appalachian mountains of KY. He became Artist in Residence in Estill County and the High School Art Teacher. He obtained his teacher's certificate and Masters of Art Education from Eastern Kentucy University. He also earned graduate credit from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. In 1992, Burkhardt opened the Lily Mountain Nature Preserve and Arts Center, where he conducted nature and arts programs for individuals and groups.

As part of his art studies, Rocky Burkhardt took drawing and sculpture classes from Artist Michael Skop. Skop was a student of Ivan Mestrovic, who was in turn a student of Rodin. The lineage goes directly back to Michelangelo, Leonardo and beyond. The Great Masters knew and understood the "Secrets of Life."Through this lineage and Burkhardt's own reflection, study and thought, Burkhardt was able to pull together many of the "Secrets of Life" and existence. He coined the acronym "Xtendoe" which ably describes how we exist. "Xtendoe" stands for Extended Entities and Domains of Existence.

Since the year 2000, Burkhardt has been sharing with others, through his art, presentations and products, the Great Power and Potential that exists within his, "Xtendoe Secrets of Life."
